First Aid Kits
With the April holidays upon us, most of us are going away for a well deserved break. It is essential especially when traveling with kids to keep a first aid kit with you in case of emergencies.
A first aid kit is a collection of supplies and equipment for use in giving first aid. Whether you buy a first aid kit or put one together, make sure it has all the items you may need. Include any personal items such as medications and emergency phone numbers or other items your health-care provider may suggest. First aid kits can be assembled in almost any type of container. Standard kits often come in durable plastic boxes, fabric pouches or in wall mounted cabinets. The type of container will vary depending on purpose, and they range in size from wallet sized through to large rucksacks. It is recommended that all kits are in a clean, waterproof container to keep the contents safe and aseptic. Store the kit in a cool, dry place, out of reach of small children. Make sure that you know what each item is for and how it is used.
