How to Make Time for You as a Mom
Being a mom is hard work - yes, it is work 24 hours a day, permanently on-call. Logically, you know that running yourself on empty isn't good for your health or your family. But the instinct to be a devoted mother means operating in overdrive.
A mom who works hard all day deserves a break to maintain her own sense of sanity and basically just rejuvenate herself. Without this time, nobody can maintain good balance, mental health, or their emotions under control. Not every outing in your life needs to be one accompanied by the kids, no matter how young or old they are. At least once a month you should arrange with your partner, or a friend to babysit the children. Sadly yes, some husbands do have to be asked to "babysit". Use this special time wisely. Have a spa treatment, a hairdressing visit, a museum or art gallery tour, lunch with your girlfriends, or just lie under the sun in the local park with a book. The point is to do something that pampers you heart and soul.
